news, terror, and MANNAM peace

[Australia, Canada in 'terror' warnings in Philippines]

MANILA: Australia and Canada warned Wednesday about fresh threats of terrorism and kidnapping in the southern Philippines, and Canberra barred its diplomats from travelling to three cities in the area.
Both urged their citizens not to travel to large parts of the Mindanao region, with the Australian government specifically barring its diplomats from the cities of Davao, Cotabato and Zamboanga.
An Australian embassy spokeswoman told AFP the travel ban went into effect from Monday and until further notice.
"We have a duty of care to ensure the safety of staff overseas," she said. The embassy declined to discuss any specific threats.
The Canadian embassy advised its citizens to avoid all travel to most parts of Mindanao "due to the serious threat of terrorist attacks and kidnapping".
It said the advisory was issued Tuesday and was still valid Wednesday. Embassy spokesmen could not be reached for comment.
The Australian Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade website said the new advisory for the Philippines concerned terrorism and serious crime.
The United States embassy in Manila had already warned its citizens on May 29 of a "credible kidnap threat against foreigners in Zamboanga", it added.
In late 2002 Australia and Canada closed their Manila embassies for more than a month due to an unspecified terrorist threat. Both missions later moved to a new building.
Mindanao is the hotbed of a decades-old Muslim insurgency. President Benigno Aquino is aiming to sign a peace treaty with the Moro Islamic Liberation Front, the largest guerrilla force there, before 2016.
The island is also the stronghold of the Abu Sayyaf, Islamic militants with links to Al Qaeda who have staged deadly bombings and kidnappings of foreigners for ransom.
In March Abu Sayyaf militants released Australian Warren Rodwell after holding him for 15 months. An undisclosed ransom was paid.
Other Abu Sayyaf factions are believed to be holding other hostages, including two European bird watchers.
US troops have been based in the southern Philippines for more than a decade to help train local troops in hunting down members of the group.

[MANNAM Quotes] The truest teaching of heaven

MANNAM VOLUNTEER ASSOCIATION,
PEACE QUOTES:

The life that grows on the earth is sustained from above - by light, by the rain, and by the air they provide unconditionally to all living beings. We have received the precious gift of life from above, let us give glory to heaven, and live in peace on earth. This is the truest teaching of heaven.

[MANNAM] The walk for peace and restoration with International peace youth group

May 25, 2013 at the peace gate of Seoul Olympic Park,
Youth groups from 130 countries walked for world peace and unification of Korea.
Peace advocate Mr. Man Hee Lee announced the answer of how to achieve world peace, the Declaration of World Peace. It will be a valuable milestone in our journey towards peace. Here is the full text of the Declaration of World Peace.

[The Declaration of World Peace]
The Heavens and the Earth formed by the hands of the Creator have been given to humanity as an inheritance. In all the universe, life in its vast splendor exists only on our world.
The life that grows on the earth is sustained from above - by light, by the rain, and by the air they provide unconditionally to all living beings. We have received the precious gift of life from above, let us give glory to heaven, and live in peace on earth. This is the truest teaching of heaven.
With this eternal gift - the grace and life we have received - are we entitled to fight, kill and destroy one another? We cannot claim to desire peace and continue to provoke one another, causing conflict for the sake of valuing our own national interests above those of others. This will only take the lives of the youth, wasting them in the futility of war. This is not a legacy we can leave to future generations. Of what use is a young life, born in our day and age, if it is thrown away in this manner - thrown away without having had a chance to bloom? What price can compensate for the loss of a life? Do these young souls have another chance at life?
As emissaries of humanity through a new and heavenly culture, we declare the following:
We call on the heads of state of every country to sign an international agreement - a commitment to bringing all wars to an end. We ask them to do this from a spirit of deep-seated love for the people of their country.
We call  on all youth to unite in an effort to stop wars and pursue the restoration of peace by agreeing not to fight one another. For World Pace to become a reality, this is the duty of all youth, everywhere. The only way to stop the fighting and pointless, tragic deaths, is to stop fighting. Nobody can ask for anything greater than this, and know that your efforts - the efforts of the young people of the world today in pursuit of peace - will remain as a never fading light of life for all future generations.
Furthermore, we call on every person, every man, woman, and child in the world, to pick up the mantle of peace. In whatever way you can, we ask that you work to further the cause of world peace and restoration, making it a reality in your direct environments.
Lastly, we call on the media to port responsibly and promote a message of peace to the world.
Thank you.

MANNAM International volunteer association, the spirit!!

There are many people who has wonders how MANNAM volunteer association gathers such great number of international members not only in South Korea, but all over the world. MANNAM is not the organization who calls people only for helping others, but MANNAM gives the volunteers the answer of what true volunteerism. MANNAM can motivate people to live as a light of the world, MANNAM teaches us how to be a  peace leader. People learns the love, joy, humanism, culture, compassion, trust through the spirit of MANNAM volunteer association. I would like to share some quotes of Man Hee Lee, the honorable chair person of MANNAM volunteer association.

[The Analects of MANNAM volunteer association]

1. MANNAM is an association that has the mindset of true volunteerism. We serve our communities in love and through love because we extend the same love to others as we feel for ourselves.

2. Love can unite people in purpose, culture and peace. Ultimately it has the power to unite the whole world.

3. We usually think that we should be paid for what we do, but the reason that we [as MANNAM Volunteers] work without payment is because joy is a greater payment. We can show that example to the world and be role model for everyone. This is an education without words.

4. The start of a pure volunteer spirit is when we are compassionate, kind and trust one another.

5. Selfish ambition and greed are the root of human conflicts; through selfless volunteering we can remove these conflicts and instead build lasting relationships founded on trust and peace.

6. What we are doing now is not really special; we are simply doing what our humanity demands of us. If all is set right within one society, it will naturally has a positive effect on others, too. Let’s work together to create a beautiful world, without looking to our personal gain or ambition.

7. Light shines down on all of us from the heavens. Stars light up the skies above, and their light can be seen from all over the earth. In the same way, we should work to unite all people by lighting up the world through our selfless acts of volunteerism as we serve all equally without discrimination.

8. We do not work for recognition. Before anybody recognizes us or praises us for our work, we should be proud of what we do.

9. People do not have anything after they die, no matter how much they pursued the goals of money and power, it would be better if one acted selflessly by volunteering in service of a nation or a people. That would be glory for us, no matter whether we live or die.

10. We truly rule, not by authority, but by love.

11. The sun, moon, stars, clouds and wind are found in the heavens. Light, rain, and air are constantly provided from the sky to all the creatures on the earth. The sad fact is that, although the inhabitants earth cannot survive without these things, they live without thought or gratitude for what they receive.

12. We need to love our neighbors, the sky provides life-giving energy, yet people die because they fight for their own selfish desires. Each person needs to instead recover their light and take the lead in fighting for the greater good of this world.

13. When you reach a point where you are satisfied, and think you have done enough - give more and work harder.

14. Do not grow selfish and think that your own life is more important than that of others. We shouldn't think of what we do as a job, but instead as a blessing and our joy!

15. Quality and Quantity - why do we always say one or the other? In order to overcome this concept we need to be better than anything the world has ever known.

16. Work on yourself first, and then the world. Reflect on your beliefs and work on what you lack... but when volunteering, forget everything else, and see only the heart of those you are serving.

17. We know things in our head, but do we have them in our heart?

18. When you see your faults, you will work harder and become a smoother, more beautiful person.
